Badrane Benlahcene
Biography
Dr. Badrane Benlahcene is the Director of the Ibn Khaldun Center for Humanities and Social Sciences at Qatar University. As an Associate Professor and researcher in civilization and philosophy, he also leads the Interdisciplinary Studies Project at the center.
With a distinguished academic background, Dr. Benlahcene holds a PhD in Civilization and Philosophy Studies from Universiti Putra Malaysia (2004), a Master's degree in Comparative Religion and Islamic Thought from the International Islamic University Malaysia (1998), and a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Batna, Algeria (1994).
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Benlahcene has held various prestigious positions, including Associate Professor and Director of the Wasatiyya Center at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (2013-2020), Associate Professor at King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia (2009-2013), and Assistant Professor and Head of the Academic Committee at the University of Batna (2005-2009). Notably, he founded the Master's Program in the Philosophy of Civilization at the University of Batna in 2009.
Dr. Benlahcene's research and teaching expertise spans several areas, including the philosophy of history and civilization, religion and social sciences, history and dialogue of religions, interdisciplinary studies, and the history and methodologies of Islamic sciences. His wealth of experience and knowledge has undoubtedly made a significant impact in his field.
